Why “Puking Pumpkin?”
When I set out to create a seasonal science activity, I first stumbled upon “apple volcanoes.” This experiment looked pretty cool, and also aligned well with a few science concepts I teach. However, I couldn’t simply copy someone else’s great idea. I had to make it my own.
So, I decided to make “pumpkin volcanoes.” As I was drawing the comic for this concept, I had a realization… this comic is going to be gear towards grades 4-8, and what do kids in that age bracket love? Gross things!
Instead of volcanoes, what if the pumpkins were puking chemical reactions? My students would LOVE to see a pumpkin puke. Hence, the Halloween Science Experiment: Pumpkin Puking comic. I hope you and your learners enjoy!
